A polar bear hide at the Churchill public airport. The bear was killed legally by an inuit hunter. Churchill, a remote town in the far north of Manitoba, Canada. The town has a population of roughly 800 people and relies heavily on Arctic tourism dollars. Travelers from the world over come to Churchill to see polar bears and beluga whales, as well as other wildlife and aurora borealis. The town is on Hudson Bay, and the area is home to the world's largest concentrations of polar bears. During October and November the bears amass here as they wait for the sea ice to form so they may venture out to the sea to hunt seals. Photo © William Drumm, 2013.
